Did you not recover yet from post playa depression?
Do you miss playa hugs from random burners?
Do you feel sad of having lost BM this year?

Book your low cost flight ticket now and join italian burners on friday october 10th till sunday 12th for a burning weekend played around the 10 principles mixed with italian hosting culture! (yes we are talking about food and wine and the rituals that our culture has developped over two thousand years)

Location is a wild italian country house 1 hour north of Rome with a large kitchen and a huge fireplace in the cozy living room camping space will be arranged bring your tent your furry coats and your love!

We'll provide accomodation in Rome through couchsurfing.com for Thursday night and Sunday night if needed
(and of course www.couchsurfing.com/orseolo will be the base of the operations in Rome)

Talking about the agenda it is quite open we can plan and decide whatever we like (remember you are not a spectator eh eh) we will try to build a man and burn it of course! We'll have a sound system and probably some vj facilities
but this is not a party so we are building a number of activities that through the 10 principles. Will drive you towards a celebration of the positive side of italian culture!

PARTICIPATE
We need artists, dj's, cooks, dish washers, carpenters, engineers but most of anything we need burners at the moment we just need your ideas!
Close to the event we will need your hands and on the "playa" we will need your passion!

COSTS
We are working on the evaluation of the total costs of the event these will include camping accomodation, food and all the drinks for the 3 days we are trying to keep it cheap around 25 euros per day per person(assuming 10 euros for general expenses and 15 euros for food and drinks)
Let us know waht you think!

Hope to have some feedback soon!
keep burning

  • Is it easy to get from Rome to the site? The RyanAir flight lands in Ciampino, is that closer to the site than to Rome? What time will thiings get started on the 10th?

The flight is cheap, i will probably book as soon as i get answers to these questions!

Caroline, burner stranded in Barcelona (missed the playa so much this year!)
    • Hi Caroline!
I think it is easy to get from Rome or Ciampino to the site and Matteo, who lives in Rome and organizes the event, will be avaiable even to give and organize some rides! Anyway I will send you more info about the place as soon as I get some.
You can contact him at italy@burningman.com to know the best way to arrive in the place from Ciampino but for now book the flight, we will help you to make it for sure! :)
The camping space will be outside but if it is too cold we have plenty of space inside and the floor is always confortable for who has slept for a week in the desert, right? :)

I really hope to see you there!
      • A little update:

The event will take place in a magic spot 5 minutes from Alviano (on the border of Lazio and Umbria)

        CAR
You should be able to find distances to most cities and airports by car on google maps ;-)
We will organise transfers from Alviano train station to the event. we will also have some places by car from Rome (but maybe not for everyone)

        TRAINS
        Schedules are available on www.trenitalia.it
Rome Ciampino airport is only 1.5 hours away from Alviano
        Florence is 2.5 hours
        Pisa is 4 hours

        WHEN TO ARRIVE/LEAVE
Event will open friday afternoon and close sunday after a big litalian lunch (based on food prepared over the 2 days). Let's say arriving thursday in rome and departing monday morning or sunday late it's the best combination.

        WEATHER
we agreed on some warm days and fresh nights (to recreate BRC sleeping conditions), on the night of the burn (saturday) a dust storm is forecasted, fire conclave could be affected...

        Hope this helps!
